2025 Awards Eligibility

Well, it’s been a bit of a year, hasn’t it? I hope this post finds you keeping your head above water and able to celebrate a few accomplishments amidst the chaos that was 2025. In that spirit, here’s my award-eligible writing for the past year:

“Pastepot” in the magazine Supernatural Tales Issue 59 (short story, 3600 words)

“Creepshow” in the anthology Poisoned Soup for the Macabre, Depraved, and Insane: Nostalgic Terrors (creative nonfiction, 1000 words)

“The Lesser Devil’s Stairway” in the magazine Illustrated Worlds Issue 10 (short story, 4100 words)

“Pests” in the digital zine Memento Mori Ink: Morsus Vitae Issue 7 (drabble, 100 words)

In non-awards relevant news, my story “The Forest Has No Immediate Plans to Kill You” (originally published in Weird Horror Magazine) was reprinted in Small Wonders Issue 19 and recommended on Reactor. And next year, I’m excited to have forthcoming work in Saros Speculative Fiction, Supernatural Tales, Chthonic Matter Quarterly, Frost Zone Stories, the Tales to Terrify podcast, and a few other publications that I can’t talk about just yet. Watch this space.

2024 Awards Eligibility

So, it was a bit of a year with lots of competing demands on my schedule, but I still managed to get some writing done in the cracks and crevices of time available. Three pieces of my short fiction (two short stories and one flash fiction) saw publication this year and are eligible for award consideration:

“The Head in the Pantry” in Cosmic Horror Monthly Issue 54

“A Cave Near Bruniquel” in Tenebrous Antiquities: An Anthology of Historical Horror (Chthonic Matter Press)

“The Coin of the Realm” in 99 Fleeting Fantasies (Pulse Publishing)

Publication links are available on my Stories page. As always, thank you for reading and sharing my work!

2023 Awards Eligibility

Welcome to my first ever awards eligibility post. This year, I published four pieces of short fiction that are eligible for consideration under the various science fiction/fantasy/horror awards:

“Alates” in Cosmic Horror Monthly Issue 42 (December, 2023)

“Our Knowledge Concerning Elebem” in MYRIAD: Necropolis — A Hexagon Digital Zine (December 2023)

“The Molt” in Two-thousand Word Terrors: An Online Horror Anthology (August 2023)

“The Shrine of Saint Amandus” in 34 Orchard Issue 7 (April 2023)

If you enjoyed any of these stories and think that one might be worthy of recognition, thank you very much for nominating or voting for it. Mainly though, I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to read my stories and (if you’re so inclined) recommending them to anyone else who might enjoy tales of vengeful Isoptera, dead cities, aggressive skin conditions, or cranky elementals.
